Spotlight on Golight: A Pat On The Back

by admin on April 29, 2010

We don’t want to go around patting ourselves on the back, but we sure don’t mind if others do! The following is a letter that was received by one of our associates, Shawna.

Shawna,

I am sending you the light I called about.

This light was received as a gift approximately 10 years ago and rode on top of my patrol car (I was a State Trooper for 33 years). Afterward it rode on my truck (I am now a ranger with the Yazoo Ms Delta Levee Board). Last Sunday (3/28/10), while responding to a call, and running about 80 into a 20 MPH head wind, I met an 18 wheeler probably going just as fast the other way.

It could have been because one of the magnets came loose due to weather exposure, or it could have not been setting flush because of the ribbed roof… who knows.

But to my surprise it came loose, first striking the bar light, then flying over the left fender and striking the black top.

The power cord held the light as it bounced down the road at 80 mph. It probably took me a 100 yd or so to stop. To my surprise, it was still hooked up and just bouncing along.

I picked it up and put it in my truck. The lens was gone, the handle was gone, a large chunk was missing from the right front of the light. I, of course, figured it was a total loss but surprised it didn’t look any worse. So I decided to check if it still worked.

Was I surprised when I pressed the ON button on the remote and the light came on, then more so when I saw all features work. Other than the lens, handle and a chunk out of the housing, it worked like a charm.

Thanks for making a product that does what it said it would do, plus well beyond what anyone could ever expect.

I have purchased several of your lights in the past for my department and will continue to buy more in the future.

Again thanks for such a great product.

We were so smitten with Bobby”s kind words that we were inclined to send him a reconditioned unit to replace his original.
