This is a question that the Golight team is presented with on a daily basis and addresses with the following facts:
1) Candlepower is not a valid measurement for rating any type of light output or brightness. The “candlepower” term has been officially eliminated by all reputable lighting manufactures.
2) Peak Beam Intensity, which is rated in “CANDELA”, is now part of the official ANSI accredited “FL1 Standard” which measures the true intensity of a spotlight beam. The higher the “CANDELA” number…..The higher the spotlight beam intensity…..the higher the target illuminating capability……the farther the beam distance.
3) The average automobile halogen headlights on bright are rated at 100,000 CANDELA. Golight offers several spotlight models that range from 200,000 CANDELA up to 650,000 CANDELA.
4) To make sure CANDELA claims are accurate and validated figures, make sure they are presented with the official “FL1 Standard” icons as shown at the top of the article.
